YOUR FAMILY’S INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains how Nido handles personal information when you use our apps on iOS or Android, our website, and our support services. Nido is responsible for the information described here. Contact us at contact@usenido.com.

1. Information we handle

  • Account information: your name, email address, account identifiers, email verification status, and sign-in credentials. Passwords are stored as hashes. If you choose Apple or Google sign-in, we receive the identity information that provider makes available, such as an account identifier, name, and email address.
  • Baby and care records: the baby’s name and birth date, caregiver membership and invitations, and the information you enter, such as nursing, bottles, diaper changes, sleep, growth measurements, and notes. These records can contain sensitive health-related information.
  • Technical and usage information: account and session identifiers, actions taken in the app, timestamps, app version, operating system, device model, and browser information. Our servers and hosting providers also process network information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service.
  • Support information: messages you send us. An in-app support report includes your description, app and device details, language, current screen, and connection information to help investigate the issue.

We receive information directly from you, from caregivers who share a baby’s records with you, from sign-in providers you choose, and automatically when the service is used.

2. How we use information

We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, store and synchronize care records, show summaries and trends, manage caregiver access, send verification and invitation emails, answer support requests, understand how features are used, troubleshoot problems, and prevent abuse.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the service you request, for legitimate interests such as security and service improvement, to meet legal obligations, or with your consent where required. You can contact us to withdraw consent; this does not affect processing that already took place.

3. How information is shared

  • Caregivers: people with access to the same baby profile can view its shared records according to their role. Only invite people you trust.
  • Service providers: providers that help operate hosting, email delivery, diagnostics, and support process the information needed for those functions. Our website uses Cloudflare hosting and loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser details.
  • Sign-in providers: choosing Apple or Google sign-in connects you to that provider, which handles information under its own privacy policy.
  • Legal and security needs: information may be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or protect the service.

We do not sell personal information or use baby care records for advertising.

4. Storage, security, and retention

Nido stores account and care information on its servers so authorized caregivers can access it across devices. The apps also keep session credentials and preferences on your device. We use encrypted connections, password hashing, and access controls to protect information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

We retain account information while your account is active and care records until they are deleted or a deletion request is resolved. The current in-app deletion control removes sign-in credentials, sessions, caregiver memberships, and queued usage events, and replaces your name and email in the account record with a deleted-user identifier. It does not automatically erase baby profiles or care records. Email account-deletion requests are handled by our support team and include all associated personal data by default, including personal data linked to a deleted-user identifier.

An email account-deletion request includes baby profiles, care records, support messages, and other associated personal information you are authorized to delete; you do not need to list individual records or send a separate request for care data. We verify authority over shared records to avoid deleting another person’s data without authorization. Sharing alone does not justify retaining your personal data indefinitely. If retention is necessary for a legitimate reason, such as a legal obligation, security, or fraud prevention, we explain which data is retained, why, and for how long.

Our infrastructure and providers may process information outside your country. Where required, transfers are subject to applicable data protection safeguards.

5. Your privacy choices and deletion requests

You can review your care records in the app and update your name in your account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, obtain a copy of, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Current in-app deletion control: on Android, open Family → Your account → Delete account; on iOS, open Family → Your account → Delete my account, then confirm. This removes account access as described above. To have our support team complete deletion of associated personal data, use the email request below, even if you have already deleted your account in the app.

Request account or data deletion without the app: email contact@usenido.com with the subject “Nido privacy request.” Send it from your account email address, if possible, and ask us to delete your account. This includes all associated personal data by default; you do not need to name each profile or record. You can also use this address to request deletion of specific data without deleting your account, or for access, copy, correction, and other privacy requests.

For step-by-step instructions, visit our account and data deletion page. We complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, including removal of backup copies of data approved for deletion within the same period, unless retention is required by law. Your email request covers associated personal data, including baby profiles, care records, support messages, and personal data linked to the deleted-user account reference. Shared status does not exclude your personal data from the request.

We may ask for information needed to verify your identity and authority over shared records. Do not send your password or unnecessary sensitive information. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain what can be deleted and what must be retained, including any shared records or backup copies and their applicable retention period.

6. Website preferences

The marketing website stores your chosen language in your browser’s local storage. You can clear it in your browser settings. The app screenshots on the website show sample data; viewing them does not create baby care records. The privacy pages are readable without JavaScript or an account.

7. Children’s information

Nido is intended for parents and caregivers to manage baby care, rather than for children to create their own accounts. Only enter or share a child’s information if you are authorized to do so. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information directly or if you need help removing a child’s records.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Nido changes. We will publish the revised policy here with an updated date and provide additional notice when required. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@usenido.com.
